Director of Business Development & Marketing
Portent, Inc., an industry-leading Internet marketing firm located in Seattle, WA, is searching for a trailblazer to transform the company’s sales, marketing and business development division via the newly created Director of Business Development & Marketing position.
The ideal candidate will be asked to handle all aspects of the sales process, from identifying, prospecting and acquiring clients to managing and handling incoming leads, while exceeding sales quotas each month. Additionally, the candidate will possess a longer-term vision and attributes to ultimately build, motivate and manage a business development team that delivers results in accordance with the organizational strategy.

Salary: Base + Commission
Location: Seattle, WA
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Handles all aspects of the sales process and revenue budget.
- Responsible for helping set and exceed company revenue goals.
- Impact the profitability of the company through strategic and tactical business decisions and new business development results.
- Develop and regularly review/report on the division’s objectives.
- Competitor and market understanding & analysis
- Ensure efficient and effective inbound and outbound marketing, advertising and promotional plan implementation.
- Maintain and develop organizational culture, values and reputation in its marketplace
Requirements & Basic Areas of Knowledge and Skills
- Minimum 1-2 years of accomplished sales experience – Internet-based and/or technology sales experience a plus.
- Knowledge of business and management principles with personal attributes & skills to grow into team management role.
- Entrepreneurial spirit.
- High level of urgency & motivation to accomplish goals
- Good project and time management skills
- Strong organizational & analytical skills
- Curiosity & creativity
- Ability to work collaboratively
- College Degree highly preferred
