Social Media Internship at Internet Marketing Agency
About Portent:
Ever wonder how you get a “real” job without that elusive “real work” experience? With opportunities in PPC, link building, SEO, social media, copywriting, an internship at Portent is as real as it gets.
As part of this 3-6 month-long intensive marketing internship, you won’t have to wear a sandwich board, make a daily coffee run, or cold call anyone. You’ll be doing actual internet marketing stuff… stuff that would blow Don Draper’s mind.
This marketing internship is a choose-your-own adventure environment where coffee and creativity flow free. We’re seeking an intern who is awesome, ready to learn and takes a genuine interest in the series of tubes we call the internet.
A Day in the Life of a Social Media Intern:
Our marketing team is like a giant wheel made up of several spokes: SEO, PPC, and Content Creation. We can’t promise a life of fame and glory, but we can promise you’ll learn. A lot. In fact, when you’re done, you’ll have to watch your step because you’ll be dropping so much knowledge. You’ll be assigned to legit team member tasks in copywriting, link building and the holy grail of internet marketing internships… SOCIAL MEDIA. One day you’ll be writing a blog about the state of the economy through the eyes of pawn shop reality shows and the other you’ll be tweeting about 9 tools that measure a company’s corporate responsibility.
How to Apply to Portent:
- Rule #1: Please don’t call. We’re internet people. Email us your resume/cover letter and if you have any questions, please tweet @PortentIntern.
- Rule #2: Email your resume and cover letter (less than two paragraphs please) with the subject line: “I’d do anything to work at Portent” to the email: doug@eigene-homepage-erstellen.net.
- Rule #3: Send a one-tweet pitch about what you would like to learn at Portent over the next 3 months to @PortentIntern.
- Rule#4: Misspellings, bad grammar, and madeupwordingness will not help you in your internship search.
- Rule#5: Extra credit if you tell us what the worst cinematic sequel is of all time. It’s a tough one, but please only pick one movie.
Successful applicants will go through a brief phone screening before an in-office interview.
What’s in it for you?
Not only will you be a part of Portent’s whacky work environment, which includes the occasional Friday beverages and Jack-in-the-Box taco eating contests, you’ll learn internet marketing with some of the best minds in the industry. Although the first two weeks of training is unpaid, we will compensate you after the initial training period. You’ll gain resume-worthy work experience and a training opportunity valued at $5,000.
