In an impressive display of market growth, Prime Energy, created by popular YouTubers Logan Paul and KSI, has emerged as the fourth best-selling sports drink globally this year. The brand has experienced a staggering increase in sales, with a reported $377 million (£308 million) in revenue for 2023, marking an incredible 1,676% rise compared to the previous year.
Market Landscape
According to insights from consumer analysts Circana, Prime’s rapid ascent has significantly disrupted the sports drink industry, which is currently dominated by Gatorade. Gatorade leads the market with over $7 billion (£5.7 billion) in sales, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 11.5%. Notably, Prime’s nearest competitors, Body Armor and Powerade, have seen declines in their sales figures, with Body Armor down by 10.6% and Powerade by 2.4%.
Distribution Expansion
The demand for Prime has surged recently, prompting major retailers such as Tesco, Morrisons, Aldi, and Sainsbury’s to stock the drink. This increased availability has contributed to its growing popularity among consumers.

Regulatory Scrutiny
Despite its success, Prime has not been without controversy. Earlier this year, the brand faced scrutiny from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding its caffeine content, which raised concerns about potential health risks associated with high levels of caffeine consumption.
