‘Abracadabra 2’: Sequel will show the ORIGIN story of the Sanderson Sisters
In an interview with EW, the director Anne Fletcher revealed that the sequel ‘Abracadabra 2‘ will show new details of the origin story of the iconic Sanderson Sisters.
“The opening sequence of the new movie will show a little bit of the origin story of our witches and Billy. We’ll see a little bit of what their reality was like and what happened to witches. I always missed that in the first movie. Why are witches like this? I always had this question. And I loved that story [da sequência] starts in 1600.”
She adds, “I tried to dig a little deeper into this because I wanted to show that, in many ways, the past hasn’t changed much compared to the present. There isn’t much difference. I wanted to point out the irony in that. Audiences will be able to see younger versions of these characters, and what happened to them.”
The sequel arrives on the Disney+ platform on the day September 30th.
It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th century sisters, and they’re out for revenge. Now it’s up to three teenagers to stop the ravenous witches from stirring up a new kind of chaos in Salem before dawn on the eve of All Saints’ Day.
Doug Jones will also reprise his role as Billy Butcherson.
The cast will still have Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Hannah Waddingham, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Henderson and Nina Kitchen.
Anne Fletcher (‘She Dances, I Dance’) will direct.
