In an interview with EW, the director Anne Fletcher revealed that the sequel ‘Abracadabra 2‘ will show new details of the origin story of the iconic Sanderson Sisters.
“The opening sequence of the new movie will show a little bit of the origin story of our witches and Billy. We’ll see a little bit of what their reality was like and what happened to witches. I always missed that in the first movie. Why are witches like this? I always had this question. And I loved that story [da sequência] starts in 1600.”
She adds, “I tried to dig a little deeper into this because I wanted to show that, in many ways, the past hasn’t changed much compared to the present. There isn’t much difference. I wanted to point out the irony in that. Audiences will be able to see younger versions of these characters, and what happened to them.”
The sequel arrives on the Disney+ platform on the day September 30th.
