Great stuff, David – and I thoroughly agree. It was definitely a logical piece of the marketing pie for Google to implement to help cut through spam and fluff.

Thanks David. I’ve been testing authorship on my websites and client sites the past month or 2. On my website with the best rankings, I noticed the pic showing up in results right away. That’s cool. The uncool part is that our top3-5 rankings have been sliding closer to 10 as other +sured posts move above us. Makes for confusing mornings.

I’m about to remove the connection, just to test if our rankings come back, is that a useless test in your opinion?

Have you seen any negative correlations of rank and author profile amongst your sites?

Thanks Jamie – it took me some time to wrap my brain around how all the pieces of the puzzle fit together, but then it’s like “Shazam!” – semantic markup and authorship are a must.
