Camilo releases "Alaska" with Grupo Firme

The Colombian star Camilo released, this Thursday (18), his new single “Alaska”. The track is a partnership with Grupo Firme, a regional band from Mexico.

“I love beautiful and transparent people, like the Grupo Firme people. Making a song with them was something that challenged me and felt like an adventure. Living their musical process in the studio was quite an experience, we had a lot of fun and I think the energy what we experienced while recording can be felt in the music. I’m very happy and it’s another dream come true for me to have them as part of my new album”, said Camilo about the recording.

Eduin Caz, leader of Grupo Firme, also spoke about the partnership. “The synergy was immediate; we exchanged lyrics and verses. That’s when, without saying much, we decided that we should join our talents to create something new. That’s how ‘Alaska’ was born, synonymous with joy, fun, passion, unity and celebration!”.

The single will be part of Camilo’s third studio album, entitled “De Adentro Pa Afuera”, which will arrive on streaming platforms in September.

Listen to “Alaska (ft. Grupo Firme)” with the lyrics below:

“Alaska”

Today they asked me what was my favorite cerveza
Y yo contesté
Y yo contesté
be kissed by your mouth

Luego dijeron me, no beer, ¿How do you like tequila?
Dije reposado
Dije reposado
But reposado en su camita

Always talk to you
Always talk about you until when it’s not about talking about you
I see you everywhere
and up to double when I’m a baby

Everyone says that alcohol
It damages the memory
It seems that clearly
I haven’t drunk enough
To erase our history

Everyone says that alcohol
It’s going to make you live less
but less stressed
And even less worried
Because I don’t have your kisses
Blessed alcohol, (blessed alcohol)
sweet torment
Tell me why el olvido walks so slow

Blessed alcohol, (blessed alcohol)
sweet torment
What happens afuera?
Better wind pa’ inside

Tell me to move to another place to see if I want to think about it
Yo me voy pa’ Alaska
Yo me voy pa’ Alaska
But to the cantinas pa’ olvidarte

Always talk to you
Always talk about you until when it’s not about talking about you
I see you everywhere
and up to double when I’m a baby

Everyone says that alcohol
It damages the memory
It seems that clearly
I haven’t drunk enough
To erase our history

Everyone says that alcohol
It’s going to make you live less
but less stressed
And even less worried
Because I don’t have your kisses

Blessed alcohol, (blessed alcohol)
sweet torment
Tell me why el olvido walks so slow
Blessed alcohol, (blessed alcohol)
sweet torment
What happens afuera?
better…

Al centro y… How was it?
I’ve forgotten about the baby I walk
Arriba, abajo, al centro and pa’ inside
