Elton John releases excerpt from partnership with Britney Spears. Listen!
“Hold Me Closer”, the song that Elton John and Britney Spears recorded together, will only be released on Friday (26), but the pianist released a snippet of the song on TikTok to prepare fans for what’s to come.
The 14 seconds show that the single should follow the successful model of “Cold Heart (With Dua Lipa) (Pnau Remix)”, that is, to use an Elton classic as the basis for a new song. If the partnership with Dua Lipa was based on “Rocket Man” and “Sacrifice”, the one with Britney is based on “Tiny Dancer” (1971).
Under a danceable and electronic base we hear the singer, with her voice processed by autotune, singing the immortal chorus of the original track (“Hold me closer tiny dancer/Count the headlights on the highway”). Now we have to wait a few more days to finally hear it in its entirety.
