Green Day made its debut at Rock in Rio and did not disappoint the fans who went to Cidade do Rock, this Friday (9). Main attraction of Palco Mundo on the fifth day of the festival, the trio from Oakland (USA) met all expectations.
Green Day has in its vocalist, Billie Joe Armstrong, a true “showman”, who doesn’t stand still in any song and is always willing to make the audience part of the presentation. Like a conductor, he leads the fans to sing, wave their arms and jump throughout the performance.
To get an idea of the audience’s involvement with the show, with only 4 songs played, Billie Joe had already invited a couple to take the stage for a special moment: a marriage proposal, celebrated by the leader of the trio.
Added to this is the discography of respect from Californians, who made two of the most influential albums of the 90’s and 2000’s with “Dookie” and “American Idiot”, respectively. Tracks from these albums and others by the band made the crowd happy, from the pop punk classic of “Basket Case” to the ballad “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)”.
