Publisher Neowiz announced this Thursday (11) that Lies of P is one of the guaranteed presences at Gamescom 2022, the new edition of the largest games fair in Europe. The game reimagines Carlo Collodi’s popular novel with a hostile Gothic theme, following the molds of the soulslike genre as in Bloodborne.

According to the announcement, visitors to the event will have the opportunity to experience the first playable demo. Furthermore, a new trailer will also be shown during the eventwhich takes place from August 24th to 28th in Cologne, Germany.
So far, the game continues without a confirmed release date and will be available for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. It is expected that the event will also bring more details in this regard.
Revealed in May of last year, Lies of P drew attention for its unusual proposal, placing the protagonist in a city taken by violent and scary automatons. The adventure takes place in the period of the Bela Época in Europe (1871-1914). The goal is to find its creator, Gepetto, in a world where all humanity has been lost.
Developer Round8 Studios guarantees that the game will feature a mechanic of lies in procedural missions, which change depending on the player’s choices. This should also define how the story ends. “You must always lie to others if you hope to become a human,” reads the official description.
As a puppet, Pinocchio also has access to a variety of weapons that are attached to his body. The idea is that the player has the freedom to create different combinations and equip pieces that guarantee even new moves outside of combat, proving to be quite useful.
It is worth noting that Geoff Keighley, journalist and presenter at Gamescom, said that the opening event of the fair will have some surprises. The broadcast takes place on August 23 and is expected to feature at least 30 games, including titles that “fans would never expect to be there.”
