New record!  'Top Gun: Maverick' is the BEST-SELLING release in history on digital platforms

Top Gun: Maverick‘, from Paramount Pictures, achieved another record, this time on digital platforms, as, according to the website Collider, the sequel starring Tom Cruise became the best-selling digital release in a week of all time in the United States.

Maverick‘ is also the top selling item across all Amazon categories in the US after just one day on the site. Remembering that the feature hit digital platforms on August 23.

Since its theatrical debut, ‘Top Gun: Maverick‘ has consistently broken box office records and racked up a worldwide gross of $1.4 billion. After the sequel officially topped the domestic earnings of Marvel Studios’ ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, it was solidified as the sixth highest-grossing film of all time at the domestic box office.

Although the exact numbers have not yet been released, ‘Maverick‘ most recently earned $677.5 million at the domestic box office, surpassing the $678.8 million earned in ‘infinity war‘ from 2018.

Top Gun: Maverick‘ became the highest-grossing film of 2022 in the United States when it passed the $400 million mark, surpassing ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘, which grossed US$398 million domestically.
