Although Brazil does not appear on the list, Sony said that the PS5’s value may increase in select Latin American markets. That is, the price can also be readjusted in our country soon.

Why did the PS5 price increase?

According to PlayStation, the increase in PS5 prices is linked to the world economic scenario. “The global economic environment is a challenge that many of you around the world are undoubtedly facing,” describes Sony. “We are seeing high rates of global inflation, as well as adverse currency trends, impacting consumers and creating pressure across many industries.”

The company also explains that, despite the price increase, the brand’s priority is to continue improving the distribution of the PS5. “Our top priority remains improving the PS5 supply situation so that as many gamers as possible can experience everything the PS5 offers and what’s yet to come.”
