Released in 2017, ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘ received praise and complaints, leaving fans of the saga very divided.
Much of the negative criticism is due to the fact that the director Rian Johnson portray Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) as a coward to isolate himself on a desert island after the fall of Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) to the Dark Side.
Even so, the director Rian Johnson told Empire magazine that he remains proud of his work and of having contributed to the narrative of the saga.
With that in mind, the magazine released some never-before-seen behind-the-scenes images.
One of them shows Andy Serkis alongside her character, Supreme Leader Snoke, while another brings a glimpse of the fight between Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) and Finn (John Boyega).

Despite being proud, Johnson confessed that the process of accepting fan criticism of his ideas for ‘The Last Jedi‘ was initially “painful”. The director, however, said he overcame that, and took a great deal of learning from the situation about not absorbing what comes from social media.
“It has been a process. At first, it wasn’t easy. It was incredibly painful. Before the movie came out, if a person said something even a little sarcastic to me on Twitter, I felt a deep, ‘Oh my God, there’s someone out there who doesn’t like me… I have to fix this,'” said Rian Johnson.
Remembering that ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘ raised $1.3 billion around the world.
