'The Goldbergs' Will KILL Jeff Garlin's Character In Season 10 After Actor's Fire

It looks like the writers have finally figured out which direction to go in the comedy’s 10th seasonThe Goldbergs‘ after the resignation of the actor Jeff Garlinwho left the cast after several complaints of misconduct behind the scenes of the series.

According to EW, his character, patriarch Murray Goldberg, will die. The site claims that the character will be dead for months when production returns in the next cycle, which will double as a major reboot of the series.

“We’re going to follow a family that still hasn’t come to terms with the fact that their patriarch has passed away, but has been trying to move on,” declares the showrunner. Alex Barnow. “We’re going to start with an optimistic attitude with Eric’s baby coming and we’re going to keep looking to the future. It’s an opportunity to explore the quirky behavior of these characters.”

The actor had been fired in 2021, before the end of filming the ninth cycle. To fill in his absence in the remaining episodes, the producers used pre-recorded dialogue and a body double, with the face of Garlin being added during the post-production process.
