“What fascinates us about this plot, on a narrative level, is how confusing and unreliable history can be. I mean, this is a book written by one author trying to filter events through the perspective of three other authors, with their own points of view. Is there really an official story? Not. There are some things that happen that are well documented and real, but there are others that are up to interpretation. We don’t know exactly what happened.”
He adds, “Our story is trying to fill in those gaps in the story, so there will be some shifts in the show that don’t exactly happen in the book. There are a lot of examples of that in Season 1, where you see the aftermath, but you also find out how it really happened.”
All episodes of Season 1 are now available on HBO Max🇧🇷
