Xbox launches digital codes to access games in Brazil

O Xbox is launching a new way to access games in Brazil: the digital codes. As of August 23, more than 30 first-party games will be sold in this format through Hype Games and PicPayfirst partners to implement the novelty.

Another 30 other retail partners across Brazil will support these digital codes from the 1st of september. The announcement sent to the press doesn’t give many details about how the codes will work, or which games will receive this new sales format. What we do know is that on PicPay, users will be able to purchase games through the PicPay Store. Hype Games is precisely a platform that sells games for computer, mobile, Steam credits and other digital content.

According to Xbox, “Digital game codes are a modern, easy and fast way for customers to buy the games they want to play, wherever and whenever they want.” This is an investment in the Brazilian market that would also help reduce waste, “in line with Microsoft’s zero waste commitment.”

Erick Baca, category director for Xbox Latin America, adds: “We are always looking for options to make more and more gamers play the way they want. As always, thank you for your support as we work to bring this experience to players.”
